COUDERSPORT - Elnora Ransom Knauer, 92, of Coudersport, died Thursday (March 22, 2012) in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport.

Born Sept. 3, 1919, in Bingham Township, she was the daughter of Rufus and Helen Shutt Johnson. She attended the country school in Ischua, N.Y., and graduated from Lewisville Vocational High School in Ulysses in 1937.
She was employed at the Anchor Toy Factory in Coudersport, Cooper-Slide in Genesee, furniture manufacturer in Canisteo, N.Y., Mapes Woodworking in Whitesville, N.Y., and worked as a caregiver for many area residents.
Elnora attended the First Baptist Church in Roulette and more recently the Bingham Center Bible Church. She was a member of the West Bingham Grange and the Coudersport Senior Center.
Surviving are three sons, Eugene (Patricia) Ransom of Conesus, N.Y., Robert (Paula) Ransom of Whitesville and Dale (Georgia) Ransom of Genesee; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and 12 stepchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard E. Ransom in 1959; her second husband, George Knauer Sr. in 1984; a daughter-in-law, Carol Ransom; three brothers, Daniel Johnson, Donald Johnson and Arthur Eugene Johnson; two sisters, Mary Springer and Helen Mae Burrous; and three stepchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Harold Kiel, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in North Bingham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bingham Center Bible Church; or the Coudersport Senior Center, Coudersport, PA 16915.
