KANE - Eva Caribardi, 91, of 296 Fairview Ave., Johnsonburg, died Friday morning (April 25, 2014) at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Born March 4, 1923, in Johnsonburg, she was the daughter of Gennaro and Frances Chirillo Aiello. On Oct. 9, 1940, in Johnsonburg, she married James Caribardi Sr., who survives.
Eva was a devout member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she founded the committee to prepare funeral dinners. She carried on her mother's tradition of the Feast of the Annunciation with a 365 bead Rosary.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three sons, James Caribardi of Johnsonburg, John (Lois) Caribardi of St. Marys and Jerry (Rhonda) Caribardi of Wilcox; two daughters, Carolyn (Fran) Grandinetti in North Carolina and LuAnn (Tom) Judice of Greensburg; five brothers, Arthur, John, Robert and Ernest Aiello, all of Ridgway, and David Aiello of Treasure Lake; plus six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by two sisters, Mary Caribardi and Sister John Frances (Lucy) Aiello; three brothers, Victor, Joseph and Donald Aiello; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Caribardi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Johnsonburg with the Rev. Brian Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Magnus Parish in Ridgway, and the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in St. Marys, con-celebrating. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc., Kane.
