JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - Florence E. Larson, 85, of 65 Stewart Ave., passed away Sunday (Oct. 13, 2013) in Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, N.Y.

A Jamestown resident since 1951, she was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Port Allegany, Pa., a daughter of the late Oscar and Selma Rydell Johnson.
She was a 1946 graduate of Port Allegany High School.
Surviving are her two sons, Mark A. Larson of Jamestown and Thomas J. (Christena) Larson of Newark Valley; five grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Johnson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. "Jack" Larson, whom she married Sept. 17, 1949 and who died April 3, 2002; a grandson, Joshua J. Larson, who died March 3, 2011; four sisters, Agnes M. Johnson, Jennie E. James, Ruth A. Johnson and Edith J. Widen; and five brothers, Albert B. Johnson, Carl A. Johnson, Roy M. Johnson, Verner W. Johnson and Walter H. Johnson.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home, Jamestown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
