Francis R. Pageau, 74, of 144 Davis St., Bradford, passed away Thursday (July 12, 2018) peacefully, at his residence.
Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Dec. 20, 1943, he was the son of the late Antoine and Marion June McPherson Pageau.
On Nov. 25, 1992, in Saranac Lake, N.Y., he married Linda Ann Brockway Pageau, who survives.
Mr. Pageau enlisted in the United States Army on May 13, 1965. He served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on May 12, 1967. After his service, he worked at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Conn. He then transferred to the Federal Correctional Institution in Ray Brook, N.Y., where he served as a lieutenant and retired in 1999. After his retirement from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he had worked for 30+ years, he then worked as a jailer in Marshall County, Alabama. He then moved to Bradford and worked at the airport and later at Zippo Manufacturing. He enjoyed the company of his dog, "Pepper."
He was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge in Saranac Lake, N.Y.
In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by one daughter, Renee (Lex) Beloat of Reno, Nev.; one son, Scott (Anna) Pageau of Jacksonville, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Christina (Bruce) Franco of Gifford; two stepsons, Michael Rule of Tupper Lake, N.Y., and Mark Rule of Rochester, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a sister, Norma G. (John) Bourdan.
At the family's request there will be no visitation.
