Mr. Straub was on the board of directors of the Straub Brewery for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Army National Guard (Company L and Headquarters) in Ridgway from 1957 to 1965. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the BPOE Elks, St. Marys Sportsmen, Pa. Pharmaceutical Association, the NCPA (National Community Pharmacy Association), the Forest Landowners Association, the NRA (National Rifle Association), a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club and was a developer of his gas and oil interests in Wetmore Township in McKean County for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Kathryn (Kitty) Lenze, who he married on Aug. 8, 1991, in Forestburg, N.Y. Also surviving are his four children, Frank X. (Cheryl) Straub III, Pat (Susy) Straub and Paula (Mrs. Louis) Chiappelli, all of St. Marys, and Rosanne (Mrs. James) Hannon of Butler; their mother, Barbara Brisson Straub of Smickburg; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four stepchildren, Missy Barnett of Aurora, Colo., Russ (Denise) Klaiber of Kersey, Kim (Mrs. Charles) Axtman of Turbotville and Scott (Amy) Klaiber of Weedville; and nine stepgrandchildren.
