Frank E. Otto, 77, formerly of Lafayette, and Hinsdale, N.Y., passed away Saturday (Dec. 15, 2012) at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born Nov. 19, 1935, in East Stroudsburg, he is the son of Evelyn Bush Otto of Bradford and the late Melvin Otto. On June 26, 1954, he married Nancy White Otto, who died on Jan. 25, 1984.
Mr. Otto attended Media High School. He was a certified Chevy Mechanic for more than 35 years. He owned and operated Otto's Communications. He also owned and operated the Lafayette Sports Shop and car rental business. He had been the parts manager at O'Laughlin Pontiac-Buick-Cadillac-GMC Truck Dealership in Salamanca and Great Valley, N.Y.
He was the former chief of fire police at the West Bradford Fire Co. in Chester County. He was a former member of the Lafayette Evangelical Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, NASCAR, but most importantly spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is one daughter, Sandra March of Strasburg; three sons, Theodore (and the late Susan) Otto of Lafayette, Frederick (Brenda) Otto of Bradford, and Robert "Andy" Otto of Philadelphia; his companion of many years, Judy Buckles of Hinsdale; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Fred Otto.
Family will be receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Baldwin, pastor of the Lafayette Evangelical Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lafayette Cemetery.
