EMPORIUM - Frank H. Grimone, 97, of 37 S. Cherry St., Emporium, died Thursday afternoon (March 8, 2012) at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys.

He was born March 31, 1914, in Alpena, Mich., a son of the late Joseph and Carmela Guccione Grimone. On July 25, 1950, in Winchester, Va., he married Patricia Austin Grimone, who survives.
Mr. Grimone graduated from Emporium High School in the class of 1933. He retired from GTE Sylvania after more than 46 years. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and a lifelong and original member of the Emporium Country Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five sons, Larry (Criss) Grimone, Dave Grimone and Matt (Barb) Grimone, all of Emporium, Jim (Wendy) Grimone of Avondale, La., and Frank (Joan) Grimone of Pinehurst, N.C.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; a grandson, M. Cash Grimone, who died Nov. 12, 2011; three brothers, Leo, Tony and Sam Grimone; and three sisters, Rose Praino, Lucy Chambers and Mary McLean.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Barnett Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Mark Catholic Church, Emporium, with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium.
