Gayle C. Gronemeier, 73, of Bradford, passed away peacefully on Friday (July 1, 2016) at her home.
She was born on Sept. 10, 1942, in Schenectady, N.Y., a daughter of the late William and Katharine Rock Carman. On Aug. 15, 1964, in Saranac Lake, she married Fredrick M. Gronemeier; who survives.
Mrs. Gronemeier was a 1960 graduate of Saranac Lake High School, Saranac Lake, N.Y., and a 1964 graduate of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in education.
She was employed by Bradford Regional Medical Center as the director of risk management for 24 years until her retirement in 2010.
In addition to her husband of 51 years, Fredrick Gronemeier of Bradford; she is also survived by one son, Darrell (Ronni) Gronemeier of Olean, N.Y.; one daughter, Dawn Vail of Cortland, N.Y.; three granddaughters, Brooke Gronemeier and Mikailyn Gronemeier, both of Olean, and Hannah Vail of Cortland; and one grandson, Ethan Vail of Cortland.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mascho Funeral Home Inc., with a funeral service to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Patrick J. Cox, pastor of the Grace Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
