George L. Moore, 81, of 893 Horse Run Road, Shinglehouse, passed away Saturday (June 1, 2013) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 17, 1931, in Olean, N.Y. he was the son of the late Edward and Viola Mae Robbins Moore. On Nov. 7, 1975, in Limestone, N.Y., he married Susan Ann Coldren Moore, who survives.
He was a graduate of Smethport High School. On March 7, 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and was honorably discharged on March 10, 1955. He had been employed at Owens-Illinois, Airco Speer and Corning Glass in Bradford. He transferred to North Carolina with Corning Glass and worked until his retirement. He returned to the Bradford area in 1996 and worked part-time in the oil fields for Freeman and Freeman of Bradford and Simon of Bolivar, N.Y. He was also a driver for Smethport Auto Parts.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending summers with his grandchildren.
Throughout the years, he faithfully attended church and most recently attended McCrea Brook Wesleyan. His most important relationship was with Jesus Christ. 
In addition to his wife, Sam, he is survived by a daughter, Alexandra (the late Scott) Brown of Franklinton, N.C., and two other children; several grandchildren including, Brittany Brown and Zachery Brown both of Franklinton; two sisters, Orpha (John) Krise and Phyllis (the late Robert) Freeman, all of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation and private funeral services will be held at the convenience of family.
