Gerald Rinfrette, 83, of 231 Parkside Drive, Limestone, N.Y., passed away Monday (Oct. 5, 2015) surrounded by his loving family, at his residence.
Born June 13, 1932, in Bradford he was a son of the late Peter and Ruth E. Hansen Rinfrette.
On Nov. 5, 1955, in Olean, N.Y., he married Gladys I. Deemer Rinfrette, who died on April 20, 2008.
Mr. Rinfrette attended Bradford High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on May 7, 1951, in Erie. He served two years in the Philippines and 60 days in Korea and was honorably discharged on Nov. 30, 1953.
He had worked for Kline Brothers Body Shop, W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery, Corning Glass and then he owned and operated Jerry's Body Shop in Limestone for 50 years. He loved all animals but "Skippy" his Sheltie stole his heart.
Surviving is a daughter, Sally (Mark) Stormer of Bradford; two sons Robert (Vicki) Rinfrette, and Scott (Cindy) Rinfrette, all of Limestone; one sister, Rose Mary (Jim) Hannold of Gifford; two grandchildren, Megan Snyder and Mindy Stormer; two great-grandchildren, Brianna Snyder and Gabriel Snyder; two stepgrandchildren, Kelly Waid and Bryan Miller Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; two brothers, Richard Rinfrette and James "Jumbo" Rinfrette; and four sisters, Barbara Rupert, Marjorie Curcio, LaReta Linane and Joan Osborne.
Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday from 3 to 5 & 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main St., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Stan Scoville, chaplain of the Olean Hospice, officiating. Committal services and military honors will be accorded Friday at 1 p.m. in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Memorials if desired may be made to the Olean Hospice.
