Helen Patrick, 91, of Smethport, went to be with God on Saturday (April 26, 2014.)
The Guest Book is expired.
Born in Brownsville on Sept. 11,1922, she was raised near Prague, Czechoslovakia.
Miss Helen was an extraordinary woman. One would not guess from her diminutive stature that she was made of the sternest material. She escaped from Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia at the age of 16 with her sister Bertha. Miss Helen had the steel of her generation and the genteel grace of the old world.
She was married to her husband John, who passed away in 1981.
Miss Helen came to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Jeff Linnan, where she resided for 30 years.
Her last residence was Lakeview Senior Care and Living Center in Smethport. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Jeff Linnan; grandchildren, John and Nancy Aiello of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Danielle Chrisman of Laurel, Md., and great-granddaughter, Taylor Aiello of Fort Lauderdale.
There will be no formal service locally. The family will have an open house on Sunday.
