FORD CITY - J. Christopher Young, 42, of 9th Street, passed away Monday (June 29, 2015) in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
Born March 13, 1973, in Bradford, he was a son of John J. and Evelyn M. Anderson Young.
Mr. Young was a graduate of the Ford City High School, Class of 1992.
Chris had worked for Eljer Co. of Ford City, before having to retire.
He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lodge 606, and Latin American Club both of Ford City. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed motorcycle racing with his nephew, Nate.
Surviving in addition to his mother Evelyn M. Zimmerman of Ford City, are a daughter, Amy A. Young of Leechburg; two brothers, Jeffery A. Young and Todd M. (Trish) Young, both of Ford City; several nieces and nephews including Nate, Noah and Zack; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Young, a sister, Amy L. Young, who died in 1989.
There will be a private visitation and graveside service held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. James Campbell, pastor of the St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
