Jack A. Grove, 80, of 1324 East Main St., passed away Thursday (Dec. 11, 2014) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born May 24, 1934, in Bradford, he was a son of the late George "Dick" and Blanche Gallagher Grove. On Sept. 19, 1959, in Bradford, he married Marjorie "Marge" Storer Grove, who survives.
Mr. Grove was a graduate of Bradford High School. On June 15, 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Japan for two years as a communication specialist. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 26, 1959.
Jack returned to the Bradford area and began his working career at Kendall Refinery, which later became Witco, and he retired in 1997. After his retirement, he worked for local families as a landscaper.
He was a member of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church and Quarter Century Club at Witco. Jack was an avid golfer and a member of the Pine Acres Club, the Eagles Club and American Legion.
In addition to his wife Marge of 55 years, he is survived by a daughter, Jill (James) Doyle of Cypress, Texas; a sister, Betty Stockton of Rochester, N.Y.; and one granddaughter, Sara M. Doyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by one brother, Jim Grove.
Family will be receiving friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main St., where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jay Tennies, pastor of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating.
