CLEARWATER, Fla. - Jack Stuart Titus, 81, of Odessa and of Bradford, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday (April 11, 2013) in New Port Richey.

He was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Cochranton, Pa., to Leonard Ray Titus and Julia Bruce Deets Titus. On Feb. 9, 1950, he married Lavawn "Bonnie" June Berlin Titus, who survives.

Mr. Titus retired as maintenance supervisor at age 55, after 34 years with Owens Illinois of Bradford. He was past president of the Bradford Gun Club and former High Chief of the Konneaut Indians. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Trapshooter's Hall of Fame after winning the Grand American in 1989 out of a field of 4,505 shooters.

Jack was a gifted "Jack of All Trades" who could fix anything. Known as the stockbender, he was an accomplished gunsmith.
He also enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing and visiting with family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by three children, Sharon Rose Zickefoose of Sarasota, Jack (Mikey) Stuart Titus II of Marcellus, N.Y., and Connie (John) Lee Johnson of Derrick City, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Gregory Lee Zickefoose, Jody Lynn Zickefoose, Amy Jo Chupp, Brian Michael Titus, Leslie Lynn Ahern, Randy James Titus, Danielle Kay Johnson and Amy Michelle Bay; fifteen great-grandchildren, Andie Lee Chupp, Austin Jay Chupp, Collin Mark Chupp, Cody Darin Chupp, Seth Andrew Thomas, Silas Matthew Thomas, Lauren Paige Zickefoose, Abigail Quinn Zickefoose, Jack Stuart Titus III, Brian Michael Titus II, Nathan James Titus, Abigail Morgan Ahern, Shannon Edward Ahern III, Lindsey Ann Bay and Chloe Michelle Bay; and a sister, Virginia Lee Durst of Bradford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother, Robert Titus.

Family and friends had an opportunity to gather for a "Celebration of Life" in honor of Jack Titus on Sunday in the Hospitality Room at the Silver Dollar Trap and Gun Club of Odessa. A memorial service will be held in Bradford at a later date to be determined. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater.
