CALIFORNIA, Pa. - James K. Zeaman, 68, of California, Pa., died Friday (May 24, 2013).
He was born Monday, Dec. 11, 1944, in St. Marys, son of the late Kermit and Nina Zwald Zeaman.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of California, the Monongahela Valley Lodge No. 461 Free and Accepted Masons, California Rotary Club, and he was the treasurer for both the California First Presbyterian Church and the Washington Presbyteri.
Jim was retired from the Pennsylvania State Police, where he worked as a liquor control enforcement officer. He also proudly served the country in the U.S. Navy.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, James K. (Jennifer) Zeaman Jr. of Forbes Road, Tami Lyn (Kevin McGillicuddy) Azorsky of Falls Church, Va., and Pam Azorsky of York Harbor, Maine. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Brandon, Sara, Rachel, Rebecca, Christina, Leah and Joseph Zeaman, Connor and Tristan McGillicuddy, Mandy, Max and Brett Sowerby, and Dara (Jack) O'Savage; five great-grandchildren; a special daughter-in-law, Lucretia McCrory; and his long-time companion, Ruth Tessaro.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Daryl Zeaman; son, Darryl "Kip" Azorsky; grandson, Kyle Azorsky; and son-in-law, Dan Sowerby.
Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home Inc., 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and on Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held in the funeral home followed by funeral services in the First Presbyterian Church of California at noon with the Rev. Candace Cook officiating. Burial will follow in West Newton Cemetery. The Monongahela Valley Lodge No. 461 F&AM will accord funeral services at 7 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of California, 303 Fourth St., California, PA 15419.
