Jean L. McAdams, 87, of 281 South Ave., Bradford, passed away peacefully on Saturday (June 1, 2013) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born May 26, 1926, in Oil City, she was a daughter of Albert F. and Elda L. Stephens Xander. On June 28, 1947, in Bradford, she married Donald B. McAdams, who survives.
She attended Bradford schools. She has been a member of the First United Methodist Church for more than 70 years, a member of TOPS Club for 45 years, where she held various offices and would offer fashion tips which were printed in The Bradford Era. She was a member, past secretary and treasurer of the Ball & Chain Club and volunteered at the Crook Farm.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and especially preparing wonderful meals for family gatherings.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Dianna (Patrick) McQueeney of Utica, N.Y., and Deborah (Joseph) Webster of Blacklick, Ohio; one son, Robert (Marcia) McAdams of Bradford; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one niece and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Hemmerly; and one brother, Albert Xander.
Family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Tom Verner, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
