PHOENIX, Ariz. - God's servant Jean Marie Munsey, 93, passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at Hospice of the Valley's Sherman Home in Phoenix.
Jean Marie Blauser was born in Bradford, Pa., on Feb. 5, 1925, to Floyd and Vivian Blauser. She was the last survivor of eight children.
She grew up and went to school in Duke Center, Pa. After graduating from Otto Township High School she moved to nearby Olean, N.Y., to work in the war plant during World War II. A real life "Rosie the Riveter," she ran a lathe making parts for army tanks. After the war she got married and started her family, moving to California in the early 1950s. Life as a U.S. Air Force wife was well suited to her nurturing ways; providing a little piece of home for the airmen who served with husband Dean. They moved to Phoenix in 1975.
Jean was a tireless worker for the Lord Jesus Christ her entire life. She volunteered in the food program at the Church on Fillmore in Downtown Phoenix for many years. After her retirement she served as church secretary for her church. She supported many outreach programs-Billy Graham-Turning Point For God, Our Daily Bread, and Leading the Way.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dean A Munsey. They are now reunited in Heaven "together forever."
She is survived by her sons, Paul Munsey (Jacky) and David Munsey; grandchildren, Susie Freestone (Toby), Robert Maushund (Elissa), Heather Graham (William); great-grandchildren, Austin Maushund, Joshua Graham, and Nicki Comstock (Sam).
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed everyday.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85022, with Pastor David Meek officiating. She will be inurned at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in a private ceremony.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona in memory of Jean M. Munsey. Please visit to leave condolence messages for the family.
