Joan F. Pessia, 76, formerly of Russell Boulevard, passed away Sunday (March 23, 2014) surrounded by her loving family, at The Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born April 7, 1937, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Merle and Helen Douthit Frambes. On Dec. 28, 1956, in Bradford, she married Lucian J. "Lou" Pessia, who died Dec. 12, 1991.
She was a 1955 graduate of Bradford High School.
Joan was employed at Tuna Mill & Manufacturing, Goodman Brothers, the Children's Home of Bradford and prior to her retirement she designed kitchens at Bisett Building Center.
Surviving are two daughters, Marie Eidson of Limestone, N.Y., and Sally Pessia of Olean, N.Y.; two brothers, Jim Frambes of McMurray and Ed Frambes of Long Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren, Jesse Eidson, Danielle Eidson, Michelle Pessia and Lisa Pessia; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Susanna Pessia, one son Larry Pessia, one great-granddaughter Gabrielle and one brother Bruce Frambes.
Family will be receiving friends Thursday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main St., from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held with the Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
