PORT ALLEGANY - Judy A. Wennerstrom, 73, of U.S. Route 6, passed away Monday (Jan. 14, 2013) in Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 25, 1939, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Neil and Louella Abbott McKervey. On April 16, 1958, in New Paltz, N.Y., she married Richard C. "Ponch" Wennerstrom, who survives.
Mrs. Wennerstrom had worked for Pierce Glass Co. and later with Stan's Quality Shop, both of Port Allegany. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, Class of 1957.
She was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Port Allegany. She loved crafting, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Both Judy and Ponch enjoyed visiting Kersey to listen to country western music.
Surviving, in addition to her husband Richard, are two sons, Michael J. Wennerstrom of Mount Jewett and Scott A. (Karen) Wennerstrom of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Julie A. (Tom) Jeffers of Austin; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary "Bunk" (Peg) McKervey of Port Allegany and Kenneth McKervey of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Joy (Jim) Barr of Roulette; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Lawrence Scofield officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
