Karen L. Bentley, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, 67, of 6 Rosedale Ave., passed away Friday (March 6, 2015) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born April 26, 1947, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia Smathers Valentine. On Oct. 25, 1975, at the First United Methodist Church, she married Gary L. Bentley, who survives.
Mrs. Bentley was a 1965 graduate of Bradford Area High School. After high school, she began her employment with the Bradford Hospital and worked until 1975. She then became a domestic engineer.
Karen was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended St. Bernard Church. She was a former member of the Pennhills Club and Pine Acres Country Club.
She enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, is one daughter, Brooke Bentley of Bradford; two grandchildren, Ava Harper and Cami Harper; one brother, Richard Valentine of Bemidji, Minn.; and one niece, Kimberly Valentine Stolski of Baxter, Minn.
At the family's request, there will be no visitation. Friends may be invited to attend a memorial service at a later date and time to be announced. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
