Keith F. Mayer, 81, formerly of Limestone, N.Y., and 30 Pike St. in Bradford, passed away Friday (July 22, 2011) at the Bradford Manor.
Born June 27, 1930, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Walter B. and Elizabeth Campbell Mayer.
On Dec. 9, 1950, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, he married Grace C. Swartz Mayer, who died Dec. 27, 1991. On Jan. 16, 1993, in Jamestown, N.Y., he married Ethelyn Grover, who survives.
He moved to the United States in 1955 and then to Bradford in 1960.
He was the owner and operator of Davey Upholstering in Bradford for 32 years.
He was a former member of the Limestone United Methodist Church and served as secretary, treasurer and Sunday school superintendent. He was a trustee of the Village of Limestone, past president of the Diabetic Association of Bradford, former member of the Bradford Lions Club and a former member of the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce. He attended the Bradford Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Catherine Prevatt of High Springs, Fla., and Patricia (Myron) Taylor of Bradford; one son, Keith B. (Anne) Mayer of West Bloomfield, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Cindy Grover of Fall Church, Va., and Donna Ekas of Bradford; two stepsons, John (Christine) Farnum of Erie and Lyle (Jill) Grover of Pittsburgh; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Calvin Grover.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 E. Main St., where funeral and committal services will be held at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Mills, pastor of the Bradford Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery.
