KANE - Leatrice E. Rodgers Maze, 85, of Coon Run Road in Russell City, died early Monday evening (May 9, 2016) at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Born Jan. 19, 1931, in Johnsonburg, she was the daughter of Wilton L. and Grace E. Wensel Dyne. On Dec. 22, 1950, she married William V. Rodgers, who died in 1988; and on March 7, 1992, she married DaWayne H. Maze, who survives.
Leatrice was a secretary at the Kane Republican, then for J.R. Cowan Co. in Kane. Later, she was the secretary/treasurer for Highland Township for many years.
She attended several churches in the area, was a member of the VFW #1132 Ladies Auxiliary in Kane, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Order of the Amaranth, where she was a past matron. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Dawn (Tom) Johnson and Jill (Dave) McCord, both of Kane, and Susan (Bill Lorenzo) Rodgers of Russell City; two sons, Keven (Sandy) Rodgers of Conneaut, Ohio and Tracy (Dianne) Rodgers of Cornville, Ariz.; a brother, Gary Dyne of Middleburg, Fla. and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Durkit of Scottsdale, Ariz. Nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, are a brother Buck Dyne and a sister, Marlene Dyne.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc. in Kane, and may attend a service at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday with the Rev. David Durkit, her nephew, officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery near Kane.
