PORT ALLEGANY - Lewis F. "Junior" Greenman Jr., 87, of, Smethport, formerly of Turtlepoint, died Sunday (Nov. 30, 2014) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.
He was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Hilton, N.Y., a son of Lewis F. and Dorothy Stocking Greenman Sr. On Sept. 2, 1947, in Smethport, he married Donna J. MacKenzie, who died April 22, 2009.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during World War II.
Mr. Greenman worked for South Penn Oil in the oil fields and for Quaker State Oil Refinery in Farmers Valley. He later worked as an operator for Penelec, retiring in 1987. He was well known for his guitar playing for several local bands including "Blue Denim," which he played with his sons Brad and Gary.
He is survived by three daughters, Diana (Chuck) Zetwick of Turtlepoint, Eileen (Rod Kelly) Smith of Olean, N.Y., and Myrna Drugg of Roulette; two sons, Bradley "Brad" (Jennifer) Greenman of Port Allegany and Eugene "Buzzy" (Annie) Greenman of Port Allegany; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bert and Merle "Bucky" Greenman of Wellsville, N.Y., and Keith Greenman of Athens, Texas; two sisters, Martha Feick of Friendship, N.Y., and Edith "Dolly" Meyer of Wellsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a son Gary Greenman in 1998, one brother Frank and one sister Agnes.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., 105 N. Main St., Port Allegany. Funeral and committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion John Berg Post 976 Honor Guard.
