STATE COLLEGE - Lois Wamblade Doriguzzi, 88, of State College and Marco Island, Fla., died Saturday (Sept. 5, 2015) at Juniper Village.
Born Aug. 22, 1927 in Kane, she was the daughter of the late Carl Basil and Ellen Turnwell Wamblade of Kane. She was married to the late Leo Joseph Doriguzzi, on July 24, 1955 in Bradford. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage together before his passing on Feb. 28, 2011.
Lois graduated from Kane High School. In addition to Kane she also lived in Bradford, Lebanon and Lock Haven prior to moving to State College in 1974 with her husband Leo.
Lois founded the successful business Preferred Temps and Preferred Office Suites on College Avenue in 1981 with Jane Grant.
She loved and was passionate about traveling, having made numerous trips to Europe with Leo and traveling almost the entire United States. Lois and Leo also loved Marco Island, FL having considered the Island a sanctuary and their second home for almost 23 years. She also loved to read, draw and play golf. Lois had a very long and successful and happy life and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by a daughter, Tina (Arthur Dangel Jr.) Doriguzzi-Dangel of State College, and a son, David Doriguzzi of Pittsburgh; and one grandson, Arthur John Dangel III of State College.
In addition to her parents and husband Lois was preceded in death by her brother, Basil Wamblade Jr., who was a U.S. Marine and was declared missing in action on Okinawa during World War II.
Visitation will be Wednesday at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College, from 12:30-2 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Scott Schul officiating.
Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
