SUN CITY, Ariz. - Louis L. "Bud" VanScoter, 82, passed away April 13, 2014, in Arizona.
Bud was born in Eldred, Pa. a son of Stanley and Orpha Rosa Strait VanScoter.
He had served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier the USS Monterey for five years. He was then employed by Clark Bros. Manufacturing in Olean, N.Y. until 1967. He later moved to Arizona and was employed by Goodyear Aero Space until 1980. After returning to Eldred, Bud was employed by Zippo Manufacturing Co. in Bradford, Pa., until his retirement in 1993.
He, and his wife of 55 years Anna Caito retired to Sun City.
Surviving are his children: Cathy (Gary) Gustin of Eldred, and Tim VanScoter, James (Sue) VanScoter and Christina (Randy) Roberts, all in Arizona; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas (Cherri), Robert (Judy) and Ronald (Debbie) VanScoter; and one sister Shirley (Bill) Clark.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie VanScoter and a brother Eugene VanScoter.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of God, Main Street, Eldred with the Rev. Roy Elliott, officiating.
