CROSBY - Lucy Ella Campbell Nelson, 92, of Crosby, passed away Wednesday (April 8, 2015).
She was born May 26, 1922, in Colegrove, a daughter of Peter Paul and Cleda Lucinda Burdick Campbell. On Oct. 29, 1940, in Hancock, Md., she married Carl Avery Nelson, who passed away on March 22, 1979.
Mrs. Nelson attended Betula grade school and Colegrove High School. 
She worked for Sylvania of Emporium, Corning Glass of Bradford, and ultimately for the Smethport Country Club.
Mrs. Nelson was a member of the Norwich Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary of Crosby, the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 Women's Auxiliary of Smethport, was a former Red Hats member, volunteered at the Pink Elephant in Smethport, enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also was a former member of the Crosby United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Calonae (John) Copeland of Smethport; two sons, Avery (Vicky) Nelson of Lewis Run and Doug (Debbie) Nelson of Crosby; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer (Rose) Campbell of Smethport; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnathan Lee Nelson; one granddaughter, Lisa Nelson; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette. 
Flowers are gratefully declined and will be provided by the family. Memorials, if desired, may be made to McKean County Hospice and VNA and the Norwich Township Volunteer Fire Department of Crosby.
