Luella M. Luck, 88, of 430 Elk Ave., Kane, died Friday afternoon (Feb. 24, 2012) at her residence.
Born July 18, 1923, in Johnsonburg, she was the daughter of Every and Elizabeth Yaun Foster. On Oct. 30, 1946, in Ridgway, she married Bernard W. Luck, who survives.
Luella was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kane, where she was a lector and was active in the Mary Circle. She was a member of the Kane Country Club, was active in the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Brownies, and volunteered her services widely in the community. She enjoyed sewing, crochet and quilting, was an avid reader, and was an advocate of the Special Olympics and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Johnson of Peterborough, N.H., and Joanne (Steve) Hartman of Round Rock, Texas; a son, Gary (Stephanie) Luck of Santa Cruz, Calif.; a brother, Leroy Foster of Parsons; grandchildren, Steve and Mark Johnson, Kyle, Andrew and Jenna Luck, and Scott and Michael Hartman; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were brothers, Morris and Kenneth Foster; and sisters, Delores Zilcosky and Mildred VanOrsdale.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc. in Kane, and may attend a service there at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Milton Jones, pastor of the Kane Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Attn: Memorial Dept., 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
