OIL CITY - Lydia Caroline Morrison, 94, formerly of Custer City and Seneca, died Wednesday (Nov. 13, 2013) at Trinity Living Center in Grove City, where she had been a resident.
Born May 4, 1919, in Richland Township, Venango County, she was a daughter of the late Frank Edward and Bertha Caroline Shirey Ritts. On April 18, 1942, she married Lester L. Morrison, who preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1988.
Mrs. Morrison had managed the Wise Dress Shop in Bradford prior to working at Zippo Manufacturing Co.
She had attended the Custer City United Methodist Church and Fertigs Gospel Tabernacle.
Mrs. Morrison enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, boating, traveling and fishing.
She was known to help anyone.
Surviving are three sisters, Rosie Alice Swartz and Pauline Hazen, both of Franklin, and Esther McClain of Youngstown, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Leonard Ritts, Fred Ritts, Samuel Ritts, Lawrence Ritts and Robert Ritts; and four sisters, Bessie Whitling, Geraldine Weary, Vera Dougher and Kathleen Foster.
Friends may call Saturday at the Morrison Funeral Home, 110 Petroleum St., Oil City, from 2 to 4 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be conducted with the Rev. Amy Worline, chaplain at the Trinity Living Center, officiating. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery.
