EMPORIUM - Marguerite E. Munsell, 100, of 220 West Allegany Ave., Emporium, died Thursday night (Jan. 15, 2015) at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium.

She was born Oct. 27, 1914 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Ernest P. and Rose Ruehl Ginther.
On June 30, 1944 in St. Marys, she married the William H. L. "Harry" Munsell, who died March 23, 2004.
Mrs. Munsell graduated from St. Marys High School. She retired from the former Flickenger's Market Basket in Emporium, where she had worked many years.
She was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church in St. Marys and also First Presbyterian Church in Emporium, where she had been very active in teaching Sunday school and as a member of the United Presbyterian Women. Marguerite was a member of the Emporium Senior Center & Barbara Mascato Memorial Library. She was active as a Girl Scout leader, volunteer for meals on wheels, American Cancer Society and served on the Board of the Guy & Mary Felt Manor Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, William G. Munsell of Emporium and Don R. (Diane) Munsell of Austin; eight grandchildren, Randy Munsell, Lisa Munsell Housler, Jill Munsell Catalano, Aaron Munsell, Kelley Erickson, William G. Munsell, Brian Munsell and Angela Munsell Gola; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Ann Wensel of St. Marys.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Greta Erickson; four brothers, Robert, Henry, John and Gustaf Ginther; and a sister, Selma Ginther.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, 205 East Fourth St., Emporium on Monday with the Rev. Philip W. Sanders, pastor, officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sundat at the Barnett Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
