KANE - Marjorie A. Johnston, 85, formerly of Smithfield Avenue, Kane, died late Thursday evening (Feb. 23, 2012) at The Lutheran Home at Kane.

Born Oct. 29, 1926, in East Kane, she was the daughter of Joseph E. and Julia A. Walters Eck. On June 8, 1962, in Kane, she married John E. Johnston, who died in 1992.
Mrs. Johnston was a baby-sitter in the area for many years.
Surviving are four daughters, Carol (Robert) Mix, Robin (Tom) McGuire and Kristine Davis, all of Mount Jewett, and Connie (Mike) Asel of Kane; two sons, Paul Boedecker and Chuck Boedecker, both of Warren; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys McCamey of Kane; plus several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband and parents, by a daughter, Nancy Boedecker; two sons, Jeff and Tim Boedecker; and 13 siblings.
Friends may call from noon until 1 p.m. Monday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc. in Kane, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor of the Mount Jewett/Hazel Hurst United Methodist churches, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Kane.
