ST. MARYS - Marshall C. "Cecil" O'Rourke, 93, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, formerly of Mefferts Run Road in Wilcox, Chicago, Ill. and Cleveland, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning (Jan. 1, 2015) at Penn Highlands-Elk, St. Marys, following a lengthy illness.
He was the son of the late Marshall Q. and Lila Grace Beck O'Rourke. He married Marge Bodnar, who she died in 2001.
He was a World War II Army Veteran, serving overseas as a Sergeant with the 333rd Fighter Squadron 318th Fighter Group. He served in the Air Offensive of Japan, Easter Mandates the Western Pacific and Rvukyus.
He is survived by one son, Daryl O'Rourke of Chicago; and one daughter, Dawn (Francois) Mailly of France; one brother, Calvin "Jiggs" O'Rourke of Wilcox; and one sister, Helen Lemon of St. Marys.
A Funeral Service for Marshall C. O'Rourke will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Cantaral, pastor of the Wilcox Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Wilcox Cemetery, Wilcox.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg.
Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg Servicemen's Deail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
