Mary Ann Cercone, 84, of Bradford, passed away on Sunday (Aug. 18, 2013) at The Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1928, in Bradford, a daughter of the late Nate and Margaret Perrine Frederico. On Feb. 20, 1954, in St. Bernard Catholic Church, she married Dominic A. Cercone, who preceded her in death on May 6, 2003.
Mrs. Cercone was a 1946 graduate of Bradford Area High School. She was a secretary for various local businesses, and was employed by the former Corning Glass Works, Bradford, and KOA Speer Electronics Inc. for a majority of her life.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Cercone is survived by one son, Dominic (Patti) Cercone Jr. of Bradford; two daughters, Angela Eschrich of Bradford and Tracy (Rich Homan) Cercone of Salamanca, N.Y.; one sister, Rose Hvizdzak of Bradford; seven grandchildren, David (Jamie) Cercone of Jamestown, N.Y., and Jordan (Freya) Cercone, Sam Cercone, Ashley Eschrich, Max Cercone, Stephen McNinch and Cathy Jo McNinch, all of Bradford; two great-grandchildren, Briar and Kane Cercone, both of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Dominic Cercone Sr., she was also preceded in death by two sisters; and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be held with the Rev. Raymond Gramata as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions in her memory be made to the Cercone Frantz Family Scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, 300 Campus Drive, Bradford, PA 16701.
