Mary Katherine White Day, 92, of Peoria, Ariz., passed away Friday (Jan. 16, 2015).

Mary Kay Day was born June 13, 1922, in Tulsa, Okla., and grew up in Bradford. Her parents were Francis J. "Frank" White and Marie Shortell White. Her brother, who preceded her in death, was Dr. Robert Emmett White, who had a private medical practice in Bradford for approximately 30 years, retiring in the 80s.
She is survived by her husband, William J. "Bill" Day of Peoria, and originally from Bradford; and her niece, Anne White Flores of San Antonio, Texas, also originally from Bradford.
Mary Kay attended Bradford Area High School and the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, N.Y.
She was employed at Ryder Scott in Bradford and also assisted her husband with his career at Zippo. She and Bill lived in the Los Angeles area for many years after leaving Bradford in the 1950s, and later retired to Sun City, Ariz. Bill and Mary Kay would have been married 70 years on Jan. 27, 2015.
Mary Kay enjoyed travel and spending time with friends and family. She kept a beautiful home filled with lovely furnishings and artwork. She had a beautiful wardrobe with many of her clothes being hand-tailored. Most importantly, she was a devoted wife and aunt. She was always very involved in her family's lives and was a very loving figure to all who knew her. She was a devout Catholic throughout her life.
Memorial services will be held/announced at a later date in Bradford, where she will be laid to rest with her parents in St. Bernard Cemetery.
