SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - Mary Josephine Luzzi, 73, of Foxfire Village, N.C., died Tuesday (Oct. 16, 2012) at her home.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born on June 4, 1939, to the late Samuel Bifano and Edna Connor Bifano. Mary was a member of the McDonalds Chapel Presbyterian Church. Mary was a loving lady and was known to many as "Mama Luigi", a nickname that she was given after planning and hosting many Italian Luau's in which her family and friends gathered together for a great time. She raised her children in Bradford, Pa. She was very involved in her family, many times being there to cheer on her two daughters as they participated in high school marching band, gymnastics, and sports. Her children and grandchildren were her passion. She had a vibrant personality, charming smile, and was always the family care taker, making sure the needs of her children and grandchildren were always met. She had a true love for animals and enjoyed dancing.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dana Deak of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Tina (Diego) Frausto of Alpharetta, Ga.; two sisters, Sue Coleman of Pinehurst, N.C., and Jody Shoop of Sebring, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Erin Deak, Nicole Frausto, and Dylan Frausto.
The family will hold a prayer service at 1 p.m. Saturday at McDonald's Chapel with a reception following. The family would like to encourage that online condolences be made at www.bolesfuneralhome.com
