Melinda S. Lewis, of South Avenue, formerly of Port Allegany, passed away Monday (Sept. 9, 2013) in UPMC Hamot, Erie.

Born Dec. 15, 1961, in Oak Harbor, Wash., she was a daughter of Richard P. and Elizabeth A. Snyder Lewis.
Melinda was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, Class of 1981. She also attended the First Baptist Church, Port Allegany.
Surviving in addition to her father, Richard, and stepmother, Dian, are two brothers, Robert J. (Pam) Lewis of Baltimore, Md., and Randall T. Lewis of Bellingham, Wash.; a half-brother, Emery C. (Patti) Lewis of Bradford; three stepbrothers, Gary A. (Judy) Leschner of Port Allegany, Paul J. (Kathy) Leschner of Coolidge, Ariz., and John C. (Penny) Leschner of Denver, Colo.; a stepsister, Kathleen D. La Grange of Deltona, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Lewis.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church, Port Allegany, with the Rev. Michael Culver, pastor, officiating.
