KANE - Mike Mix, 44, of 7 Keesler St., Mount Jewett, passed away Friday (Sept. 4, 2015) as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on U.S. Route 219.

Born March 27, 1971, in Kane, he was a son of Carole Boedecker Mix and the late Robert Mix. On June 12, 2004, in Mount Jewett, he married Mandy Howard, who survives.
Mike, who graduated from Kane Area High School in 1990, was employed as a butcher at Save-A-Lot Market. He was a member of the Mount Jewett Volunteer Fire Department, where he was the current president and a past fire chief.
He also was a member of the Kane Elks #329, where he bowled in the Wednesday night bowling league.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are two daughters, Jenna Mix and April Mix, both at home; four brothers, Scott (Tammy) Mix and Steve (Brenda) Mix, both of Kane, John (Doreen) Mix of Lantz Corners and Brad Mix of Mount Jewett. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home Inc. in Kane from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Mount Jewett with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bridgeview Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Mike's memory may be made to the Mount Jewett Volunteer Fire Department.
