Mildred L. Sylawa, 89, of Austin, died Saturday (Feb. 23, 2013) at the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.

Born on Feb. 22, 1924, in Marion Heights, she was the daughter of Anthony and Kathryn Ignatovich. On June 3, 1973, in Norristown, she married Francis J. Sylawa, who survives.
Mrs. Sylawa was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Austin. She had worked for many years as a waitress before retiring to Potter County.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Phyllis Delia in New Jersey, Jane Byers of Philadelphia and Christine DeMarco in Arizona; and stepdaughter, Sharon Parsons in Delaware.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jennifer; brother, Alfred; and granddaughter, Jennifer Delia.
Friends are invited to Mildred's Life Celebration beginning with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church of Austin with the Rev. Joseph Dougherty officiating.
