AMHERST, N.Y. - Morton J. "Jerry" Smith, 92, of Williamsville, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 27, 2013).

He was the beloved husband of Dorothy Jean (Depalma) Smith, loving father of Toni Smith Wilson, grandfather of Samantha Wilson, son of the late Morton J. and Helena (Blackall) Smith.
Morton served in the Merchant Marine during WWII and Vietnam and earned area ribbons in three theatres of war and a mariner combat ribbon with two bronze stars.
He was a proud union steward, life-long Notre Dame fan and an enthusiastic student of American History.
He was a member of St. Bernard's Parish in Bradford, Pa. for 68 years.
There is no prior visitation.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Gregory the Great Church, Williamsville. All are asked to assemble at church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Morton's name to St. Jude Research Hospital.
