JOHNSONBURG - Nancy C. Votano, 80, Wilcox, passed away Friday (March 18, 2016) at Elk Haven Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 28, 1935, in Kane, daughter of the late Einer & Helen Averill Norlin. Her husband, Michael "Teddy" Votano, preceded her in death.
Nancy is survived by her three children, Michael (Vickie) Votano of Johnsonburg, David Votano of Wilcox and Kimberly (Stephen) Erickson of Avondale, Ariz; one sister, Shirley (Fred) Schneider of St. Marys; one brother, Bernie (Velma) Norlin of Johnsonburg; two grandchildren, Michael Votano of Johnsonburg and Michelle Erickson of Surprise, Ariz.; and a great-grandson, Christian James Hunter.
Besides her parents and husband, Nancy was also preceded in death by a brother, William Norlin.
Nancy retired from St. Marys Carbon in 1998 after 26 years and continued on with her second job of bingo.
Besides bingo, Nancy loved dancing and traveling.
She was a member of the Wilcox Senior Center, Wilcox Sportsmen's and Central Hose Co.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home in Johnsonburg. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Reigel officiating.
The family suggests donations to either the Wilcox Senior Center or Elk Haven Nursing Home.
