KANE - Nicholas Juban, 99, or 261 Ohio Ave., James City, died Thursday evening (Oct. 24, 2013) at his residence.

He was born Sept. 18, 1914, in Sheffield, the son of the late John and Eva (Molodyi) Juban. On Sept. 16, 1950, in Kane, he married Rita Terry, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Juban was employed at Kane Handle for many years and retired in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and he was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Sheffield and also St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Denise Jubon of Winder, Ga., and Jennifer (Matt) Sias of San Pedro, Calif.; three sons, Nicholas P. Jubon of James City, Ron (Julia) Jubon of Kane and John Jubon of DeYoung; three grandchildren, Paul Bray and Michele and Alison Jubon; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; three sisters, Mary (Bob) Cuthbertson of Bradford, Irene (Robert) Goldthwaite of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., and Ann Juban of Ludlow; and one brother, John Juban of Ludlow.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George Juban; and one sister Catherine Juban.
Friends will be received at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time the Divine Liturgy will begin with the Rev. Roy Schubert, pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at St. Callistus Cemetery.
