PORT ALLEGANY - Norma E. Fallenstein, 86, of Frederick, Md., formerly of Port Allegany, died Monday (Aug. 6, 2012) in the North Hampton Manor, Frederick.

She was born July 18, 1926, in Costello, a daughter of Andrew and Anna Burgland Logue. On Sept. 22, 1948, in Eldred, she married Henry F. Fallenstein, who died June 9, 1993.
Mrs. Fallenstein was a graduate of Austin High School. She was a homemaker and owned and operated Henry's Grocery Store with her husband from 1969 until 1980.
She was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Port Allegany; the Women of the Moose #205, Port Allegany; and the American Legion Frank Burt Post #258, Port Allegany.
She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia Cole of Frederick; one son, Henry "Butch" Fallenstein of Port Allegany, five grandchildren, Sara (Chris) McGonnell, Jeff Fallenstein, Doni (Mark) Ernst, Christine (Christian) Smith and Mike (Becky) Cole; and five great-grandchildren, Melissa and Joshua Ernst, Seanna Hurst and Kinleigh and Cole Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; and two sisters.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held in September at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church and will be announced. Burial will be in the Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
