RIDGWAY - Pasquale "Pat" Scutella Jr., 89, of 524 Cherry Ave., Ridgway, died Monday (July 28, 2014) at Pinecrest Manor, following an illness of the past several months.
He was born June 30, 1925, in Calabria, Italy, the son of Pasquale and Maria Caminiti Scutella. On May 10, 1947, he married Rose Migliazzo at St. Callistus Church in Kane; she survives.
He had been a Ridgway resident for 67 years. He served on the Ridgway Borough Council for 20 years and was president for 12 years. Mr. Scutella had served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and was a veteran of World War II. He was a longtime distributor for Sealtest.
He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, and the Ridgway Elks and Senior Center. He was a life member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid gardener.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, John (Lori) Scutella of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Brandon (Shauna) Scutella of St. Marys, and Daniel (Jilissa) Scutella of Curwensville; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Isaac Scutella and a third on the way; a brother, Tony Scutella of St. Marys; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and four brothers, Dominick, Frank, Phillip and Joe Scutella.
There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Leo's Catholic Church. Celebrating will be the Rev. Brian Vossler, pastor. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
