Patrick J. O'Neil, 75, of Loris, S.C., formerly of 37 Terrace St., Bradford, died Monday (Oct. 7, 2013) at home.

Born on Oct. 12, 1937, in Bradford, he was the son of the late Howard W. and Carolyn Straight O'Neil. He was a graduate of Limestone High School in Limestone, N.Y., where he was very active in sports, playing baseball, football and basketball.
After high school, Patrick married Rosalie Greene, who died June 13, 1986. In 1987, he married Beverly Scarano O'Neil, who survives.
Before graduating high school, Patrick was contacted by the New York Yankees and asked to attend spring tryouts but opted to enlist in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the Bradford City Street Department for many years before relocating to South Carolina, where he was employed by North Myrtle Beach Primary School until his retirement.
He was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his wife and sons. He also enjoyed playing softball for the Keystone Guzzlers in his younger days.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Beverly, are four sons, Daniel (Cindy) O'Neil, Patrick (Kim) O'Neil Jr., Timothy (Melissa) O'Neil and Ray (Amy) O'Neil; one stepson, Larry (Cindy) Snyder Jr.; two stepdaughters, Gina Marie Snyder and Pamela Ann Slater; one sister, Carol Gallagher; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalie Green O'Neil; one son, James O'Neil; one daughter, Kathleen O'Neil; and one brother, Michael O'Neil.
Friends will be invited to attend a memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
