SURFSIDE, S.C. - Paul Blum of Murrells Inlet, formerly of Limestone, N.Y., passed away Wednesday (July 18, 2012) of natural causes at Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Georgetown, S.C.

Born Oct. 2, 1930, in Bradford, Pa., he was the son of the late Lester and Ellen Blum.
Paul retired from the New York Department of Transportation and moved to Olean, N.Y., where he continued to be an avid hunter and fisherman. He then moved to Murrells Inlet and continued his fishing passion.
Along with his wife of 52 years, Carol Blum, Paul is survived by one sister, Coral Hall in Ohio; one son, Al Blum of Smithsburg, Md.; three daughters, Diane Shields of Fountain Inn, Sandy Holsinger of Derrick City, Pa., and Paula Britton in Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Tom Blum, Jim Blum and Lester Blum.
Burial will be in Surfside with no visitation.
