JOHNSONBURG - Pearl M. Cherry, 82, died Saturday (Feb. 27, 2016) at Kane Community Hospital.
The Guest Book is expired.
Pearl was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Kane, the only child of the late Foster and Virginia Gerber Bean. On Sept. 27, 1951, she married the late Richard "Dick" Cherry.
Pearl loved animals, gardening and cooking. She was an avid bowler who won many trophies. She also enjoyed bike riding, playing cards and ceramics. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved taking winter vacations to Florida.
In her earlier years, she worked at the Kane Shirt Factory and Stackpole.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg.
Although Pearl was a stern woman of few words, she was also deeply empathetic and caring. She always showed concern for any family member or friend who fell ill. She also loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and even as her health declined, she continued to ask about the newest additions to the family.
Pearl is survived by three children, Daniel Cherry, Karen (Jake) Fedus and Lori (Robert) Challingsworth; 11 grandchildren, Daniel Cherry Jr., Dick Cherry III, Damion Bevacqua, Brandon and Brittany Beaver, Kieley Paidisetty, Ted, Rudy and Andy Cherry, and Max and Maggie Cherry; and eight great-grandchildren, Josephine Bevacqua, Christian and Marlee Cherry, Haylee, Gracie, and Aubrey Cherry, Gunnar Cunningham and Avi Paidisetty.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
