BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Phillip L. Rich, 69, of Bloomington died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 14, 2015) at his residence.
There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in his hometown of Bradford, Pa.
Phil was born on May 2, 1946 in Bradford to the late John and Doris Humphrey Rich. On Sept. 28, 1974 in Bradford, he married Virginia Rugg, who survives.
He is also survived by two children, Lisa McCullough of Olean, N.Y. and Phillip G. (Stacey) Rich of Bloomington; 10 grandchildren, Molly McCullough, Christopher McCullough, Myia Ursoy, Isabelle Ursoy, Sam Ursoy, Kerri Greene, Kasi Greene, Alexis Sterling, Nick Sterling and Gabriella Gillmore; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Sandra McCord of Leesburg, Fla., and Linda (Bill) Sayers and Sara (Harold) Whitney both of Bradford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Sterling; and three brothers, John Jr., Joseph and Donald.
Phil was of the Catholic faith. He worked as a project manager for Keane, where he spent 12 years at State Farm Insurance Company in Bloomington, last working in 2011. He was a member of the Bloomington/Normal Corvette Club and loved collecting Corvettes old and new. He was an avid golfer.
