ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Phyllis J. Cook, 78, of Rochester, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2014) in Rochester.
She was born March 20, 1936, in Bradford, Pa., a daughter of the late Earl and Helen Benjamin Rice. On April 2, 1955, in Smethport, Pa., she married Charles L. Cook Jr., who died March 14, 1986.
Mrs. Cook was a 1954 graduate of Smethport High School.
She is survived by three sons, Bradley A. Cook, Michael S. (Patricia) Cook and Stephen T. Cook, all of Rochester; five grandsons; one sister, Judith (William) McKean of Smethport; one sister-in-law, Roberta Rice of Mansfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Roger Rice.
Honoring Phyllis' request, there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, Lifetime Care, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, N.Y., 14623.
