BROOKVILLE - Ray L. Puller, 65, of Maplevale Road, Brookville, passed away on Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2018).
He was born on April 17, 1953, in Bradford, the son of Francis Puller, who survives in Smethport, and the late Gloria Jean Means Puller.
On Jan. 3, 1976, in Ingomar, he married his wife Gail S. Savenko, who survives in Brookville.
Ray was a lifelong educator, dedicating his life to education for the Brookville Area School District, teaching for 22 years as an elementary school teacher and 12 years as the elementary school principal.
For 8 years he was the Clarion University director of field services and was an interim dean of education. Recently Ray helped out and worked for the Blackbird Distillery in Brookville.
He was a member of the Brookville Presbyterian Church, served on the Jefferson Co. Historical Board, and was a volunteer and instrumental in developing the Scripture Rocks Hiking Trail project in Brookville.
He loved nature and being in the outdoors, was a master gardener, landscaper, and loved flowers.
Ray is survived by a son, Brent (girlfriend Michalina) Puller of Allison Park; two brothers, Blaine (Donna) Puller of Smethport and Roy (Jodi) Puller of Williamsport; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother and two sons, Kurt Daniel Puller and Clint Michael Puller.
A celebration of Ray's life will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Brookville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Nathan Royster presiding.
Internment will be in the St. John's Cemetery (Windy Hill), Rose Twp., Jefferson Co.
