Richard P. "Zink" Gigliotti, 85, of Olean, N.Y., passed away on Friday (Feb. 14, 2014) at Olean General Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1928, in Bradford, a son of the late Peter and Catherine Brown Gigliotti.
Mr. Gigliotti attended St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was employed by St. Bonaventure University as an athletic trainer for 25 years; while working for the university, Mr. Gigliotti attended various sports training clinics around the country. In 1994, he was voted into the St. Bonaventure University Hall of Fame.
Mr. Gigliotti is survived by one sister, Betty (Don) Comilla of Duke Center; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers; and five sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Mascho Funeral Home Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Gramata as celebrant. A Christian wake service will be held at 7:45 p.m. today in the funeral home. Burial and military honors will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
