Robert Confer, 95, of 394 W. Washington St., passed away Thursday (Feb. 26, 2015) at The Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Venus, Pa., on Sept. 27, 1919, a son of the late John L. and Verna I. Goodman Confer.
On Dec. 27, 1943, in Bradford, he married Ruth "Beebe" Diller Confer, who survives.
Mr. Confer attended Bradford schools. He had been employed at Kendall Refinery for 19 years and then at National Transit Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1981 as a supervisor.
He was a member of the National Transit Retirees and AARP.
In addition to his wife of 71 years, he is survived by a daughter, Linda L. (Larry) Esch of Barboursville, Va.; and a son, Douglas A. Confer of Bradford; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Florence Ludwig and Violet Voorhies; and six brothers, Cecil Confer, Francis Confer, Herbert Confer, Philip Confer, George Confer and Jack Confer.
Friends are invited to attend funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., South Avenue, with the Rev. Seth McClymonds, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the McKean County SPCA, PO Box 113, Bradford, PA 16701; or the First United Methodist Church.
